Elton Sailors on Tour Results Update

Elton's sailors have been busy on the circuit recently, delivering strong performances and clocking up the miles across the country.
At the Midweek Senior Travellers event held at Leigh & Lowton, conditions sounded a little drifty, but that didnt stop Darren Nield and Dave Woodhead from making the most of it. Darren secured an impressive 2nd place overall, with Dave close behind in 3rd. Great sailing from both!
Meanwhile, Steve Restall has been putting in a huge effort, competing in several Solo Open meetings across the North and Midlands. Events have been held in very testing conditions, with the fleet's high-level racing proving relentless:
- Carsington: 16th place
- Blithfield: 9th place
- Ogston: 13th place
- Burwain: 12th place
Steves commitment and steady improvement are a credit to him, and hell soon be swapping the UKs challenging conditions for the warm climate of Lake Como — a perfect example of where this sport can take you.
In the youth ranks, Harriett Wood competed at the Youth Nationals, delivering steady results throughout the week. Sadly, a critical boat failure ended her event prematurely, but it was still a strong showing in a highly competitive fleet.
Ava has also been racking up the motorway miles, most recently competing at the ILCA National Open 2, in March at Weymouth & Portland, where she finished 20th overall. Her hard work is clearly paying off, and she currently sits an impressive 5th in the ILCA 4 Youth Qualification rankings.
Over in the OK fleet, Adam competed at the OK Northern event at Ullswater, finishing 3rd overall. He narrowly missed out on 2nd, having held the position going into the last race. After being pipped on the line during the final race on day one and suffering a dramatic death roll while in a strong position in the final race on day two, he had to settle for a step down the podium to 3rd. For anyone heading to the Lord Birkett in the summer, I can confirm the water at Ullswater is definitely cold and very deep.
A huge well done to all our travelling sailors — its fantastic to see Elton represented so strongly across so many events and fleets!
